SWEET SEEDAI / VELLA SEEDAI






INGREDIENTS:

Rice flour           - 1 Cup
Urad flour          - 3 Tsp
Jaggery              - 3/4 Cup fine powder
Grated coconut  - 2 Tsp
Sesame seeds     - 2 Tsp
Butter                - 5 Tsp
Salt                    - as needed
Water                - 1/2 Cup to make a syrup
Oil                    - for deep frying

HOW TO MAKE:

Heat a pan and fry the rice flour and urad flour separately in a medium flame.  Just dry roast the flours till it becomes little hot to touch.





Heat jaggery with 1/2 cup water and boil it until dissolves. Filter the same and keep it aside.





Heat a pan and fry the sesame seeds until turn brown in color.  Take a bowl add rice, urad flour, grated coconut and fried sesame seeds. Add butter and salt.




Add the jaggery syrup and make a soft dough.  Grease your palm with little oil and make small balls.  Repeat the same until finish all the dough and arrange it in a paper or in a cloth.




Divide the seedaies in 4 to 5 batches.  Heat oil in a deep pan and put seedaies in batch wise.  Cook in medium flame and ensure seedaies are evenly fired.  Fry the seedaies until the oil bubbls sound stops and drain the seedaies in paper towel.  Store it in air tight container once cooled down.



Inipu / Vella Seedaies are ready to munch :-)
