I thought of making Rajma Sundal for Navrathri special and then I was thinking WHY always Sundal :-)  So I started surfing other states recipes and found Andhra sweet which is traditionally they prepar to offer as neivedhyam during festivals.  I thought of making for this Navrathri also wanna post before navrathri starts.  Try making this easy sweet during one of these nine days.  It is very simple to make and delicious too.  Also it is different form the usual kesari as it is kind of new to us.   After seeing this from various websites I was impressed with this scrumptious and trust me you also like this delicious sweet.

INGREDIENTS:

Roasted Rava / Sooji  - 1/2 cup
Sugar                          - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder    - a pinch
Ghee                          - 2 tsp
Water                         - 1 cup

HOW TO MAKE:

I used roasted rava and if you bought raw rava then dry roast it until it get golden brown and do not burnt it.  Bring water to a rolling boil.  Slowly add roasted rava little by little and stir continuously without any lumps.  Keep stirring until the rava get cooked.  Add sugar.

Keep stirring continuously without any lumps.  Reduce the flame and sprinkle pinch of cardamom powder.  Blend well and let it get cook until the mixture thickens.  Turn off the stove.  Allow to cool down.  Grease your hands with ghee and divide into lemon sized balls.

Meanwhile heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.  Flatten the balls between your palms.  and keep it ready.

When the oil is ready for frying drop them one by one and do not over crowd the kadai / pan while frying.

Deep fry them until golden brown.  Drain them on the paper towel.

TIPS:

Grated coconut can be added with this mixture.

Food color can be added.

Fried nuts can be added.
